March 23, 1912 Daily Ardmoreite published in Ardmore, Oklahoma .. March 20, James Son died at the residence of his son, Dr. J. F. Son in this city at the age of 82 years. Deceased was born on a farm near Pisgah, Cooper County, Missouri 1830 and until 11 years ago lived continuously in the state of his birth... At the early age of 18, Mr. Son became a member of the Baptist church.. He was united in marriage to Miss Eliza J. Harris of Pisgah, MO on Nov. 13, 1851. She together with 11 of the 12 children who were born to them survives his loss. .. One child Mrs. Rebecca Weiser of Durant preceded her father to the grave 6 years ago. Dr. G. W. Son of Thayer, MO, J. W. Son of Aurora Springs, MO, Dr. T. A. Son of Bonne Terre, MO, Mrs. Nannie Stark of Kennedale, Texas, J. H. Son of Granite City, MO, Dr. J. F. Son of Ardmore, OK, D. W. Son of Milburn, OK, Mrs. Jennie Corstetler of Mansfield, TX, Mrs. Maggie Bradford of Ardmore, Mrs. Maggie McGinnis of Enon, MO, and F. M. Son of Snyder, OK are the surviving children. (Note, when the Son family arrived in Ardmore from Missouri, there was an article in the Daily Ardmoreite, stressing the moving of Mr. and Mrs. Son and many of their children with grandchildren to the area--having a train car just for their family. Within days of arrival, one of the Son sons was being sued by a local "opportunist" over a petty situation.) Notify Administrator about this message?
