My now deceased grandmother, Helen Sojourner Gotthardt, was adopted by James Charles and Callie Lottie (nee Warrach) Sojourner in 1920. I have a document called an adoption deed which states that my grandmother was found on their doorstep. The sealed adoption record does not make any mention of the real parents. An aunt, Beth, (before she died) stated that my grandmother was an illegitimate child of the Harris' of Harris County (I don't know if she meant just a family living in Harris County, Texas named Harris or _the Harris family_ the county was named after.)
If anyone has any information at all on her parents, please post to this board. The descendents would very much appreciate any information at all relating to this case. It was my grandmother's dying wish to find out who her real parents were. We are trying to fulfill that request. Thanks.
