Thank you for your reply.

Jonathan Sober was from upstate New York. Three of his sons came to Geauga County in the 1830's. They were: Enoch, who married Clarisa Carothers, Benjamin who married Eliza (surname not known), and William Van Rensler, my 2nd Grt Grandfather, who was married to Plumma Adams in 1842 in Concord in what is now Lake County. Pluma Adams was the daughter of Roswell and Sylvia Segar Adams and was born in Barkhamsted Connecticut.

The Sober family came from Arcadia Wayne County New York, and had lived in Phelps in Ontario County and may have lived in Lockport Niagara County New York.

I cannot connect with Scott, Faunce, Halloway or Clapp names at this time.

Richard Sobers

PS My father added a last s to the name changing our name from SOBER to SOBERS.
