I am a descendant of Lucy Ann Snyder (b. 1817 d. 25 February 1886), who married Joseph Ennis (1807-1896). According to the biography of her younger brother, who was living in southern Wisconsin, she was the daughter of a John Snyder and Sarah Bowman. The article also mentions living siblings, their families and whereabouts, and there were a number of them.
Of what I've seen, John was born around 1781 in NYC, and may have still been living there as of 1835. However, I have also seen that he may have lived in Susquehanna Co, PA (this is where Lucy may have been born as well). Sarah was also allegedly from NYC, and was also probably living there, as of 1860.
This biography also mentions the grandfather as being George Snyder, a Hessian drummer, but there is no further information of this George.
Does anyone have further information on John & Sarah Snyder, their families/ancestry, and more of where they lived??
