I'm just begining to research my husband's family history. So far, we know:
Clinton Eugene Snyder was born 1 feb 1916, location unknown, but suspected to be Illinois, or possibly Green Castle, MO. He had siblings, possibly 2 brothers and 1 sister, maybe named Mary. He was in WWII and was POW/MIA. He was liberated in 1945 and met Joan Rosamond TOMLIN in England, and they married. They moved to possibly Kansas, eventually ending up in Ozark, Missouri. They had 9 children, numerous grand children and great grandchildren. Clinton passed away on 26 Mar 1987, and Joan on 1 Sep 1987.
We THINK we know that Clinton's father was Willis Snyder. however, it seems that Willis whom I found may have been 45 or so when Clinton was born. This makes me think there may have been another generation between Willis and Clinton, if there is a connection at all.
My husband was very close to Clinton, is actually named after him, as is our first born son, but since he was only 10 when he passed away, things were never very clear to him. he thinks that there was some kind of dissagreement where Clinton was no longer in contact with the rest of his family for whatever reason. There are decendants in some way of Clinton's in Kirksville area in Missouri, but due to a semi recent family dispute, I have no way to contact them to find out more.
I'm sorry this is so rambling, I figure the more information I share, the more likely that someone will recognize what I'm looking for and be able to point me in the right way. If you need more detailed information, I do have that for Clinton and further down, but only the guess at Willis.
