Jacob Snyder's claim of losses in the revolutionary war are found in the records of Ontario. reference # AO 12/29/82; AO 12/109/284. They state that he leased a farm in Saratoga NY from Philip Schuyler and also had land in Palmers town near Albany before the war. He moved to Canada in 1780 settling in Quebec.
I have information from the Loonenburg ( Athens NY ) churchbook that lists William Snyder as Born 5 December 1737. I don't know if Jacob is listed but the records are posted on the internet. Anyway this William Snyder also lived in Saratoga and my records list a Jacob as a brother born 5 July 1740. The parents are Anna Maria ( Maul ) Snyder and Johann Peter Snyder.
Listed in the Albany Dutch Reform Church Register published in the Holland Society Yearbook of 1906 lists on page 107 a Susanna Born 21 April 1745. Her parents were Hendrick and Susanna ( unknown ) Meyer. Her name also comes up on the Three Rivers Church register and the age is " suitable " according to Mrs. Polly Craig in her records.
Mrs. Craig and a Mrs Laura Brown both from the Leeds/Grenville county of Canada have down very extensive searches of Loyalists from the Albany area. A lot of these records are found in the Bronkville Library in Bronkville Ontario. It is well worth a trip there both for the records and the beauty of the area. The people who work there are very helpful and friendly.
