Tax Assessment Records, South Hanover Twp., Roll 137, 1849 & 1850 lists George Snyder.The 1850 entry reads "Snyder, George; 8 acres; $800 value; location Mandaville (probably correctly should say Manadaville); brick house; 1 cattle; $7 value; occupation, carpenter; $100 yearly income."
This land was purchased April 1, 1848 (Deed Book: V2:549) and 4 acres sold April 1, 1850.Grantor: George Snyder of Manadaville & Elizabeth his wife.Grantee: George W. Kefslinger.Consideration $1,100.Bounded on the west by the Union Canal, on the south by Manada Creek, on the east by Swatara Creek, and on the south by a public road and other land of George Snyder. -- Partial recital of title beginning 1840 with Samuel Todd.George Snyder got the propertyApril 1, 1848.This 4 acres apparently reverted back to George Snyder on October 22, 1851 and was resold on April 24, 1852 to Joseph Yeangst for $762 (Deed Book X2:254).These deeds are signed by George, however Elizabeth signed with a "X" mark.

Moved from Dauphin Co., PA in the spring of 1854 to Ida Twp., Monroe Co., MI. In the spring of 1863 he, his wife, and oldest daughter (Rebecca) became members of the Neriah Reformed Church.There was a Neriah Evangelical (Reformed) Church on Rauch Rd., Ida Twp., Monroe Co.May be the site of the current Neriah Cemetery.
In 1864 they moved to Erie Twp., Monroe Co.
In the springof 1866 George and Elizabeth moved to Wakeshma Twp., Kalamazoo Co.

The death certificate listsGeorge's father's name as George, but this is still under study, because a John Snyder, age 60, is listed in his household in the 1860 census of Monroe Co.Further Census records of 1840 and 1850 list a John Snyder household in Derry Twp., Dauphin Co., PA.The 1840 Census lists a son of George's age range as the oldest son and a son of that age is missing from the household listed in 1850.The above George (possible father of this George) is listed on the same 1840 Census page as John Snyder. He was married to ELIZABETH HOOVER (daughter of ABRAM HOOVER and REBECCA ?) on Aug 15 1843 in Harrisburg, DauphinCo., PA.Date may be 1844.Family history indicates the 11 living children and their families met on Aug 15, 1894 with neighbors and friends at the old homestead on the 50th wedding anniversary.The history was written Aug 15, 1915 on the 71st anniversary of the Snyder wedding.
