The naming of "Snow Hill"
There is no available information that the area of DeKalb county Tennessee, Snow Hill, was named for or by Joseph Snow who lived there after Adam Dale and 30 other families moved to Liberty, just below Snow Hill.It is quoted in Will T. Hale's book "History of DeKalb County" that Adam Dale signed up at Snow Hill, Maryland, as a teenager to fight for freedom in the Revolutionary War along with his father Thomas Dale. The county seat where he enlisted and also the county in which he lived was Worcester, county seat was Snow Hill. There are several books in additional to Mr. Hale's that documents this. The statement that Mr. Snow gave Snow Hill it's name was only offered several decades by the local historian and others in DeKalb County.
