my paternal grandmother's name was Bertha Perham and she was born in Bluefield, VA, according to her birth certificate that I acquired in July, 2006. (note spelling of her maiden name is Perhem which is also indicated on my father's (Julius Snow)birth certificate, also copy of which was acquired in 2006 or 2005. She married William A Snow, my grandfather, who was born in Weldon, NC. I have recently found records in the Wash, DC archives that indicate that he made application to be accepted as a Cherokee Indian along w/others who appear to be his siblings or other relatives. Those records, affidavits, etc, submitted to verify that he and others were the offspring of Cherokee Indian father.
