Hi there--
My great-grandmother was named James Ellen _____ (maiden surname unknown). She was born May 1867 in Missouri. She was married to William T. Edwards, and together they raised a family in Jefferson Co., Missouri.
I have just become aware of James Ellen Snow.According to a Gedcom I downloaded from Worldconnect, she was born ca. 1866 in Lawrence Co., Missouri to Thomas Snow and mother's maiden name Fishburn (I don't have all my notes in front of me). This is the family that is related to the Strait family.
My understanding was the she was given the name "James" for a previous male sibling who died in childbirth.I figure there can't be that many female James Ellen's born in Missouri ca. 1867.
My question:Does anyone know whom James Ellen Snow married? If so, can you confirm or dis-confirm for me, whether it was William T. Edwards, therefore making her my g-grandmother?
Thanks very much!
