I am looking for information on the Snow family of Armstrong County, PA. The information I have is that a John Snow (born abt. 1820-1830) was married to a Julia Smeltzer. They had 7 children; Elizabeth, Mary, William (b.1849), John, Josephine, Margaret and Richard. William was born in Queenstown outside of Bradys Bend. The family moved to Oil City in Venango county in the early to mid 1860's.
I am descended from William. He married Anna Crawford (b.1848) daughter of Robert (b. abt 1820) and Catherine Linnebery (b. 1827). They were from Bradys Bend. The Crawfords moved to Venango county at the same time as the Snows.
Family tradition says that there is some Blackfoot indian blood in the Snow family. It is probally from one of the eastern Souix tribes of Virginia that the Iriquois annihilated and captured during the late 1600's.
Any helpful information would be helpful. Thank you.
