I finally made it to the Clayton Library in Houston today. Made copies of both the 1850 & 1860 census for William & John respectively. There was no reference to question of William being deaf & dumb, but the next door neighbors had a daughter with the mentioned problems, also appears as though the enumerator was getting tired, started to write said info next to Williams wife, then erased and put by the neighbors daughter. Also wrote that same neighbors daughter was a physician, then x'd it out and placed the information on the following line.

One thing was also clarified. On the 1850 census. John's age appeared as 15 which is what I had as him being born in 1835.

Thank you again for your assistance.
