*22 Mar 1823 -- Adair Co., Kentucky, Civil Suit Index, 1802-1826: Robert Powell vs. Alexander Miller, John Anderson, Nathan Miller, Williamson Pittman, Elsey Creel, William Minter, John Allen, John Field and George Wagley. Filed 22 Mar 1823, box 6--Nathan Montgomery was appointed Sheriff of Adair county with William P. Montgomery as deputy. W. P. Montgomery engaged Isaac Snodgrass to take his place. Powell was a tavern keeper in Columbia. Powell and the defendants went as security on Snodgrass' bond and Snodgrass had since died. Powell wished to be released from the said bond.

*22 Mar 1823 -- Adair Co., Kentucky, Civil Suit Index, 1802-1826 (Watson): James Sweeny of Casey County [in 1819] vs. Elijah Stapp and Shadrach Phelps Filed 22 March 1823, box 6--Sweeney purchased from Stapp a tract of 100 acres on the waters of Greasy Creek in Adair in 1819. The land was part of the estate of John Stapp, deceased. Elijah Stapp made a bond and promised to make Sweeny a deed. Sweeny placed the bond with Isaac Sno[d]grass for safekeeping and Isaac had since died. Sweeny believed the bond was then passed on to Robert Powell who delivered it to Caleb H. Ricketts. Sweeny believed Rickets then gave it to Stapp. Sweeny wanted a deed.
John Stapp's heirs, some of whom were infants and some of whom were in Missouri were as follows: Benjamin Stapp, John Stapp, Hiram Ballew and wife Dorcas, Shadrach Phelps and wife Celia, John Lane and wife Lucy, Micajah Triplett and wife Sarah, Lewis Triplett and wife Patsey, Jeremiah Brager and wife Mary, Aseneth Stapp, Caty Stapp, Patience Stapp. These heirs made a deed to Elijah Stapp for the 100 acres, dated 19 May 1822, and all signed. The original 1819 title bond to Sweeny listed the followinig as the heirs of John Stapp, deceased: James, Benjamin and John Stapp, Sarah Triplett, Celia Phelps, Betsey Burton, Darkus Bellow, Lucy Lane, Patsey Triplett, Polly Stapp, Aseneth Stapp, Catharine Stapp and Patience Stapp.

*20 Jan 1824 -- Adair Co., Kentucky, Deed Book F, page 44: Know all men by these presents that I Alexander Miller as one of the administrators of Isaac Snorgrass dec'd have nominated and appointed and by these presents do constitute and appoint Joshua Butler of the County of Adair my true and lawful attorney for me and in my name as Administrator aforesaid to sign seal & deliver any deed of conveyance which may be necessary in conjunction with William Patterson my Coadministrator to the said Snorgrass dec'd to carry into effect the sale made by the said Adm'ors to Herbert G. Waggener of two tracts of land lying in the County of Ohio and held by Deed of conveyance from the heirs of the said Snorgrass to myself and the said William Patterson...

*9 Feb 1825 -- Adair Co., Kentucky, Deed Book F, page 237: Know all men by these presents that we William Patterson & Alexander Miller administrators of Isaac Snorgrass deceased for divers good considerations us thereunto moving have ordained constituted & appointed Clayton Miller Esqr. of Adair County our true and lawful attorney for us and in our names to sell and convey two tracts of land conveyed to us by the heirs of Isaac Snorgrass deceased & the conveyance whereof is on record in the county Court of Ohio and is the only deed made to us and recorded in said county the said tracts were conveyed to said Snorgrass deceased & lies in said county of Ohio State of Kentucky between Raugh Creek of Green River & contain about 320 acres...

*3 Oct 1831 -- Adair Co., Kentucky, Deed Book H, page 90: Know all men by these presents that I Alexander Miller of Adair County, Kentucky one of the trustees of the heirs of Isaac Snorgrass dec'd have this day nominated constituted & appointed... Col. Wm. Patterson of Russell County Kentucky for me & in my name as trustee aforesaid to sell & convey two tracts of land lying in Ohio County of which said Snorgrass died siezed & possessed & which said tracts were conveyed to us in trust by deed recorded in the Ohio County Court Clerks office from the heirs of Isaac Snorgrass for certain purposes therein set forth...
