I am researching the line to my grandmother and am attempting to find out what happened to her mother, would love to locate some descendants of the Snodgrass "Gate City-Scott County area. I have the following:
1. Hugh Snodgrass & Temperance Hughes ',
2. Hiram Snodgrass (Son of Hugh & Temperance) b. 1804 m. Elizabeth Nichols "Scott County, VA...Did he have a first wife???
3. William N. Snodgrass (son of Hiram & Elizabeth) & Margaret Macky m. 1854 Scott County, VA
4. John W. Snodgrass (son of William & Margaret) b. 1858 Married SARAH EMALINE VINEYARD 29 June 1878 in Scott County, VA. M/2 in 1905 to Ida Winegar
My grandmother was the daughter of John W& S. Emaline b.1898
her name was Ella her brothers & sisters are as follows:
George W. Snodgrass
William I. Snodgrass
Flaner H. Snodgrass
Bessie M. Snodgrass
John Snodgrass
Henry H. Snodgrass
Lucian Snodgrass
Nelson Snodgrass
Sallie Snodgrass*****Twin
Ella Snodgrass*******Twin
In the 1900 census my Great-Grandmother SARAH EMALINE Vineyard SNODRASS was with the family, however in 1905 J.W. Snodgrass married Ida Winegar in Scott County VA. It seems like my G Grandmother has died between 1900-1905.. I can not find any record of her death.. any help would be appreciated. Rena (fandigirl@hotmail.com)
