The source books list this for the marriage

Jan 1874 -- Sarah C. Snodgrass, 26, b. Washington Co., VA, d/o Joseph & Margaret
Snodgrass; married James H. Copenhauer, 33, farmer, b. & res. Smythe Co., VA, s/o
Henry & Barbara Copenhauer; married by H. M. White (pg. 83).
[maybe bad handwriting? Should be James H. Copenhaver m. Sarah C. Snodgrass!]

It appears the major part of this came from the marriage license but that in ( ) is an editorial comment. You can look back to see if there are more notes on Joseph and Margaret.
