I saw the Goss marriage to James Snipes. I also found a marriage between James William Snipes, Sr. and Mary Ann Grammer in Bibb Co., on 03 Feb 1837. Something led me to believe that the second marriage is the one which actually took place. The first child I show for this union was Millie Snipes, b. 1842 in Bibb Co., GA. Most of the descendants I have been able to follow have remained in AL, FL or KY. I was never able to find any further connection to the Goss marriage but I would be glad to have any new information on this possible connection.
