Early Sniffin / Sniffen / Kniffins of Rye & Westchester
Hi all...
I'm looking to clear up some "gaps" or anomolies in the births / order of my Sniffin ancestory.
Working back from a verified known being "Asbury Sniffin" b. 1835 in Somers - I have his father as a "Joel" Sniffin b. ~1797 with his father being a "Joseph Sniffin" b. ~1755 with his father being an "Andrew Sniffin".
This is where the timing seems to get jumbled...
I've seen trees that have this Andrew b. as early as 1695 although that makes him rather old to have a son born in in '55. Perhaps the "proper" Andrew is the one born in 1736 d. 1831 wife being Gloriana Lyon. If so, that would add another "Nathan" into my tree.... The 1736 Andrew being the son of Nathan(2) son of Nathan(1) who intern was son of the famed George.
Can anyone help clear up or build this bridge for me between the well documented "Asbury Sniffin" and the reported link thru the Nathan line?
Thanks!
Kyle
