See, you just have to be a good detective. It only took a few minutes and I found it on a 'free' site.

Oldham County (KY) Marriages
1824 - early 1900's
Lawson H. Buford
md 11 Jul 1836
Catherine D. Caplinger

Remember Oldham Co, KY is where I found them for the 1850 census.....first born child born abt 1836. And Catherine uses the middle initial of 'D' on many records. Looks like a match to me. Besides, how may Lawson H. Buford can there be.

On the Tree I found for Lawson & Catherine, it states Catherine died 30 may 1895 but no location. I would try Crawford Co, IN for a start.

Good luck
