Thank you Charlyne, how nice of you to send this over to me. Love the way you do your notes on this family. I think it is important to show detail, either to prove or disprove.
Your info is very helpful. In my earlier research I did not follow the Hugh Snelling & Margaret Marshall family group, I did not 'think' it was my line. Silly me, over more recent years in my research I try to record 'any' Snelling info as I find it. Searching for Illinois born Snellings is one of my new projects. Since my Hugh & wife Winney Perry are there for over 10 years, I think it might help me pick up some more of their children. Your notes regarding Hamilton Co, ILL are of special interst to me, since that is where my Hugh Snelling was. Until your reply, the only other record of a Snelling in Hamilton Co, Ill was Polly Snelling md John B. Shoemate 11 aug 1824. I am thinking she may be a sister to my Hugh Snelling???
Do you have Nancy Snelling bn ca 1770 md 1792 William Blackburn in Nelson Co, KY?? Notes from an old chart sent to me has her also as a daughter of Hugh Snelling & Margaret Marshall. On this same chart of 1989, is listed as a possible son of Hugh & Margaret, Enoch Snelling who married first a Sarah and 2nd a Nancy Daugherty on 10 jun 1806 in Hardin Co, KY. Enoch Snelling is listed as possible not proven. It is thru this family group that the Berryman name surfaces. Although to date, we have not been able to document where it comes from. Possibly, from the 1st wife Sarah's line. If interested, I have a family group of the children (and their spouses) of this Enoch Snelling.
The Snelling line is a tought one to document. It is only by sharing our possible clues that we might be able to finally piece these family groups together.
Look forward to hearing your thoughts on these possible children and thank you again for your informative reply.
