You may have already gotten this info but thought I would send it anyway. Since you have his death date, go to Social Security Death Index, Rootsweb.com has a free one, and try to find him on the index. Once you find him, it will give you an option to print out a letter to send to the Freedom of Information office. It is well worth the money to send for this. You will receive a copy OF THE ORIGINAL APPLICATION filled out by your George Snelling. The great thing about these SS applications, are they are completed by the person. Where death certificates are completed by someone else, so the info can be wrong or not listed at all.
