Since I made the post I have seen information that is confusing. I have seen that Aquilla had 4 children: Hugh, Tabathy, Curtis and an unnamed daughter. What is confusing to me is that the information on my ancester William Snelling of Wake Co is that his father was Curtis Snelling and his grandfather was Hugh Snelling of Granville Co. The information on my William also indicated that his father Curtis was married to "Silvanious Snelling". The problem I am having with this is that my William was born in 1791. This is substantiated by his age on both the 1850 and 1870 Wake co census. However according to the marriage bond Curtis married Levina (Sylvanious) Evans in 1811. The information I saw regarding Sylvanious did not say that she was Levina Evans. I have seen that connection from other sources.
Do you know who the children of Hugh Snellings (Son of Aquilla) are? Is it possible that Hugh had a son named Curtis? Is it possible that Curtis (Son of Aquilla) married someone before Levina Evans?
