On this resource there is listed two more generations back which I haven't listed because it reads:
Nothing has been found that states Freeman's father was Henry, however he did name a son Henry and one John which would make one believe that he was naming them after his father and grandfather. The names of his first three chldren came from land grants and etc. Edward Freeman was the only child that we know for sure that Freeman was his father. I listed Henry as his father because there are no other Snellgrove found at that period of time.
So here is the rest of it:
Edward Freeman Snellgrove's father was Freeman Snellgrove and his father is listed as
Henry Snellgrove born 1663 in Evershot, Dorset, England. He died 2/20/1719 in Surry County, Virginia. He was married 2/5/1692/93 in Virginia.
According to The Genealogists' Magazine XII (1957) page 342 Henry Snelgrove, son of John Senlgrove of Eversett County, Dorset, England was among twenty five Indentured Servants to come over on the Ship Booth Commanded by Captain Peter Pagan. John Bright, a merchant, served as the sponsor of these twenty-five, Henry's Indenture number was "D,615", Henry was twenty-one; he signed his name with an "X". Abraham Harrison witnessed the deal, and Abraham Bayly notarized it. The date was June 28, 1684.
and now you know "the rest of the story". ha ha!
If you have a branch listed, I would enjoy seeing it.
