Seeking relatives of CHESTER LOUIS SNELL born 1885 (Nevada?), died 1957 Santa Clara Co CA. He was son of EDWARD S. SNELL and MARY L. ("Mamie") BENDY who married in Virginia City NV in 1884.
1880 census shows EDWARD S SNELL was born about 1852 in Massachusetts; parents born England. Listed as living in lodging house of KATE BENDY, Virginia City.
KATE BENDY was born circa 1843 France, father born Switzerland, mother born France. Widowed by 1880 and had a lodging house in Virginia City NV. Residents: MARY L BENDY (born NV), LOUIS BENDY (born NV), EUGENE BENDY (born NV), CHARLES THOMPSON (a miner, b NY), JOHN CROCKER (a miner, b MA), and EDWARD SNELL (a miner, b MA).
Nevada Marriages 1860-1987 show there was also THEODORE SNELL who married VIOLA DIMMICK in July 1876. Any children from this marriage? VIOLA SNELL remarried in 1879 to JOHN W. TAYLOR, Eureka Co NV.
CHESTER L SNELL never married. A friend has a photograph album that had belonged to him. It needs a home with a relative of the SNELL or BENDY family.
