Hi James, thanks for writing to me. For quite some time i have been trying to find out where your line of Sneeds connects with mine. My grandfather William Henry Sneed who was born in Texas Co., MO in 1884 told me that your Richard Alexander Sneed born in 1845 in MS was a cousin to my great grandfather John Taylor Sneed born in McMinn Co.,TN in 1846. Granddad said John Taylor Sneed visited Richard Alexander Sneed in the late 1890's or early 1900's in Lawton, OK where he ran an Indian Agency. John lived in White Cloud, OK Territory not far from Lawton, OK. Also, my granddad William visited Richard A. Sneed at our Oklahoma State capitol in the late 1920'or 1930's when he was our Secretary of State or Treasurer.
Do you have any more information about William Sneed son of Capt. Samuel Sneed & wife Jane? Do you know his wife's name? I have proven my line of Sneeds back to Robert Sharpe Sneed born 23 January 1760 in Amelia Co., VA. I do not know his wife's name. Your Sneeds and mine were in the same place at the same time in VA. Your William may be the father of my Robert.
Do you know who Capt. Samuel Sneeds parents were? Do you know who his brothers and sisters were?
Are you related to Daniel Mahar? I have corresponded with him and have read a lot of his Sneed documentation.
