Sneed's Hamilton Co., IL

I just posted the following on the Sneed-L and Snead-L list and wanted to post it here for those not on either of those lists.

Susan Long

Hello everyone.

Back in 1998 I had requested info on a Perry Sneed and had found the first
name of Perry in several of the SNEED's in Hamilton Co., IL.; but was unable
to tie MY Perry in. I requested a copy of his death certificate and was
able to identify his parents, DOB, DOD, etc.

Someone named "Frankie" responded and listed several descendants of Elijah
Perry Sneed. SINCE that time I have also found out that MY Perry's father,
who was listed on death certificate as "THOMAS SNEED" was Probably "OWEN
THOMAS SNEED"; (Mother of Perry: Abi Hendricks)
the Owen Thomas is based upon cemetery records of Perrys sister with parents
listed as "Owen Thomas & Abi Sneed".

This rambles quite a bit.

Below is text received from Frankie in 1998. Which I guess came from Nova
"My research shows that there were 2 James M. Sneeds of Hamilton county,
Illinois. On the 1840 Hamilton Co. census, James Sneed (b c1810-1820) was
listed with a wife (b 1810-1820), one male child and one female child, both
born c1835-1840. He was the only James Sneed listed on this census. They
were not on the 1850 census. The 1860 Hamilton co. census shows:
335-335 SNEED, James M. 45 KY(b. 1815)
Elizabeth 40 TN(b 1820)
Malinda J. 20 IL (b 1840)
Moses M. 14 IL (b 1846)
SIMONS,William R. 14 AR(b 1846)
Sarah A. 12 AR
Martha E. 11 (or 10) AR
Henry 9 AR
Azariah 7 AR
Owen F. 5 AR
John R. 2 IL
MY Question:

COULD this Owen F. listed above been Owen T.? instead? My Perry Sneed was
born in 1875 in Pulaski County, MO. Which would have his father born
probably no earlier than 1853 and the above info would have him born in
1855. Other Clues.

FROM THE 1850 Izard County, Arkansas Census. A lot of similarities.
Could this be the same family? Could the Moses above actually be Hoseah?
May be a long shot, but lots of similarities.

-IZARD CO, ARkansas 1850 census----------------------------

271 SNEED James M. 33 IL Farmer
Elizabeth 28 AR
Malinda J. 12 IL
Hoseah M. 5 IL
William M. 5 AR
Angeline 4 AR
Martha 3 AR
Henry 6/12 AR
ALSO, what ties them into Pulaski Co., MO is the following info, which has
Hoseah and Henry Sneed married into the Silas Page family which ALSO come
from Hamilton County, IL

Okay, enough for now. COULD I BE ON TO SOMETHING?
