I have a quilt made in September 1880 that was autographed by several people. This belonged to my husband's ggrandmother, Mahala Baxter Collins, unfortunately, I don't know where she obtained it. Signatures on the quilt are:Nannie Long, Mary Fort, Mollie Kent, Lucy Protzman, Mary Lugadder, Alice Dresslar, Dora Burgraffe, Ollie W Sneeds, Attie Lee, Ette Sneeds, Ella Dunbar, two signature that say, Iva from her father and For Iva by her mother. Mahala married Daniel Taylor Collins 1871 Appanoose Co., IA, they lived in KS 1878 and Benton Co., AR 1900 before settling in Barry Co., MO early 1900 where they are buried in the Mineral Springs Cemetery. Daniel died in 1908 and Mahala in 1927. I would like to be able to identify the signers of this quilt so I can determine where it was made and where Mahala might have gotten it. I don't know if she knew any of the signers or not. Looking forward to hearing from anyone who might recognize any of these names.
