Seeking information on JOHN SNEED, born about 1782, VA. He was elected Justice of the Peace for Wilson Co., TN, district 13, but has the distinction of being the only one to refuse to serve and he was replaced by Joseph Fite.
He appears in the 1840 census, age 50-60, and living with him was one other male, 20-30. [Entry 14, page 70] In 1850, he headed household 1625, 13th Civil District, age 68, born in VA, and living with him was Sebastian Williams, age 34, born in OH. Williams was Justice of this distrcit from 1843 to 1848.
It seems that Sebastian Williams later married (12-15-1862, DeKalb Co., TN) Paralee Pistole and had four children, who lived in DeKalb Co., TN. He is said to have died about 1883 in that county.
John Sneed disappears after the 1860 census.
