PERHAPS OF INTEREST TO SNEED FAMILY RESEACHERS.......
From THOMAS JEFFERSON, An Intimate History, by Fawn M. Brodie, Bantam edition of April, 1975: “Polly Sneed was a teacher who tutored Thomas Jefferson Randolph in 1799, and whose name appears irregularly in the account books from 1792 to 1802." T.J. Randolph was Jefferson’s grandson. The book goes on to say that Polly provided “services to the negro women,” including Sally Hemings. pp 384-5. Furthermore, “Polly Sneed may have been the wife of the schoolteacher ‘Mr. Sneed’, mentioned by Martha Randolph in her letter to her father May 12, 1798.” p 731.
