Thanks Susan ! If it will help at all, the 1860 census for Hamilton Co. Illinois listed James M. and Elizabeth Sneed, with two Sneed children: Malinda J. and Tnases [sic] m. Sneed. Then the following children all have Simons last names: William R. 14, Sarah A. 12, Martha E. 11, Henry 9, Azariah 7, Owen T. 5 and John R. age 2. The census taker listed Simons for these 7 children. Since the youngest is 2, I wonder when James M. Sneed and Elizabeth Simons married and what state.
I next show them on 1870 census for Spring Creek, Dent, Missouri. J.M. Sneed is 52 and a minister.
