Thanks for responding; I will try to break it down to understand it.
Your post:
the paper that Julie Snead Burnett gave to the Va Archives dosen`t give the date but it is recorded in the Douglas Register on 22 Dec 1767 in Goochland Va.
OK - I have the Douglas Register. That shows the marriage in 1767 of Charles Snead & Mary Gilliam. The latest baptism in the Register is 1772.
Your post:
Charles wife is the daughter of John Gilliam and Sarah Ferris as stated in the will genforum-- Gilliam page 1652.
John Gilliam's will is dated 1794 and treats his daughter Mary Snead as living.
Charles Sneed of Henrico had six children who survived him -- Judith Sneed (m Absalom Blackburn); Susanna Sneed (m. Wm Wobbleton [Warburton]; James Sneed (m. Jane Kelley); Mary Sneed; William Sneed (m. Sarah _______ bef 7 Nov 1810); and Jacob Sneed (m Mary Franklin). No Sally is mentioned.See deed recorded 9 Nov 1810 conveying 30 acres and the grist mill called "Sneed's Mill" from the children of Charles Sneed deceased to Richard Gregory.[Hen DB 9, p 160]
Needing explanation is the acquisition by Charles Sneed of Henrico of 170 acres on 19 Feb 1771.The transaction has some important elements not reported in the abstract by Benjamin Weisiger.John Williamson had a survey made for a patent and then assigned the survey to William Patman. The patent was issued in Williamson's name instead of Patman's.Williamson died and then Patman died. The children of Williamson are listed as grantors because they were the heirs of John Williamson in whose name title had vested.
The only non-Williamson grantors were John Sutton Farrar and Susanna his wife, and the deed states that this conveyance was "agreeable to" (directed by) the will of William Patman.
William Patman had died in 1767 before his youngest two daughters - Mary and Susanna - had married. The will is lost and its precise terms not known but one involving a slave named Judy.In the deed by Susanna and her husband conveying their 1/5 share in Judy, the will is cited naming the five daughters to be given Judy at the death of their mother.
It is not certain what the will said about the 170 acres, but in context it appears that the land was devised to Susanna and perhaps another child. The other three daughters and their husbands were not parties to the deed. The price paid for 170 acres - £30 - was far below fair market value, which was generally around one pound per acre at the time.Being sold agreeable to the will suggests thatthis sale was between legatees, which would make Mary Sneed a legatee (and daughter) of William Patman.
This land was on George's Branch, adjoining Watson, Patrick and Patman.By a 1786 deed of exchange between Nathaniel Wilkinson and Charles Sneed it appears that this was the same Charles Sneed who owned the mill. This exchange was for about 30 acres, and the next year Charles and Mary conveyed 50 of the remaining 140 acres to Joseph Sheppard.
This at least raises the possibility that there were two persons named Charles Sneed/Snead.If no family connection, why would Charles Sneed get land at a third of its value?Considering the frequency of the names William and Charles in the family, it is an interesting question which may be supported or rejected by the results of further research.Following the remaining 90 acres should be somewhat useful

There is also a William Snead who marries Sarah Gilliam mentioned in the will who I belive is my direct line. He moves to Nottoway parrish of Amelia Co Va. This becomes Nottoway county.
I haven`t found when they got married but they have childern by 1777. I belive he is the brother of Charles in your #5.
Some Sneads appear in Amelia County much earlier than the events in the Douglas Register.
Christopher Snead was a witness to a deed there in 1742, and a person of that name obtained a patent of 400 acres in Halifax Co. in 1767.A person named Christopher Sneed is shown in Henrico County tax lists in 1784 and several years after.
William Snead acquired 25 acres in Amelia on 2 Jan 1762.The description (north side of Long Branch) places the land in the vicinity of Snead's Spring on SR 625 SW of Nottoway Court House about 2.5 air miles. There are ties to the Irby, Holland, Nance and Crenshaw families evident. This Snead group appears to have sent some members to Pittsylvania Co and to NC.
Robert S. Sneed told a Wake Co., NC court that he was born in Nottoway Parish of Amelia County 23 Jan 1760.(I have not seen any document in which he used a full middle name, and it appears that some enthusiast thought it should be "Sharp" and stated that as a fact.He did name a son Sharp Sneed, indicating some connection with that family. In 1798 in Pittsylvania, Sharp Lamkin and Polly Lamkin were among the heirs of John Wimbish, involved in a chancery suit in Pittsylvania County which included as defendants James Sneed and wife Parthena.)
In 1791, there were two Snead households in Nottoway -- Samuel and William. In 1801, only Richard and Alexander.

the information to Julie Burnette is furnished by Lilly Thorpe who is a daughter of Mary Gilliam Snead who is Charles and Mary Gilliam Snead.
I am not sure that I follow this.Julie Burnette cited as her source Lilly Thorpe? And Lilly Thorpe [married or maiden name?] was the daughter of Mary Gilliam Snead [who married ?], who was the daughter of Charles Snead and Mary Gilliam. Is that correct? Is there adequate evidence of linkage?
Mary Sneed, daughter of Charles joined in the deed of 1810 and was unmarried at the time.I find no marriage record for her unless she was the Polly Snead who is indexed as having married L_____ Gentry 21 Aug 1813 in Henrico.
Charles Sneed died about 1808 and Mary ?

There is also a son Andrew Jackson Snead who marries Martha Ann Gosney who is Mrs Burnette line.
When? Where? Not found in Henrico/Richmond up to 1860.
