Samantha D. Sneed and Cornelia A. Sneed were the daughters of John and Rebecca Sneed of Smith County TN.

John B. Jordan married lst Samantha and after she passed away he went to Evansville Indiana and married her sister Cornelia A. Sneed on Jan 2, 1884. Cornelia was raised in Smith County TN and I found the 2nd marriage information in the Carthage Smith County TN Newspapers Vol 1: 1809 - 1913. Like you stated John B. and Cornelia had one son Horace Riley Jordan born in 1884. John B. Jordan was also a lawyer and was elected county clerk for two terms in Smith County TN. He retired to Joplin Missouri and after he passed away, his body was taken to Smith County TN where he is buried next to Samantha D., his mother and one of his sons John Sneed Jordan in the Old Carthage cemetery, Smith County TN.

I believe that John Sneed was the son of William and Priscilla Williams Sneed and the grandson of William and Hannah Sneed of Smith County TN but have no proof of this.

I also believe that Rebecca was the daughter of Isaac and Mary Bradley and she was married lst to a William A. Riley and they were the parents of: Isaac N. Riley, James R. F. Riley, and Mary C. Riley but again I have no proof of this.

I descend from William and Priscilla Williams Sneed through their daughter Permelia Sneed who married John Goad. They lived all their lives in Macon County TN.

Would love to hear from you. Peggy
