I found your message important to me in two ways.
My maternal grandfather was Charles Sneed, son of Archibald Sneed, son of W.M. Sneed of GA. I assumed the "W in the name was William ( William goes back to Sneads/Sneeds in Va. 1600's) but could not guess what the "M" stood for--maybe "Morgan"? until I read your post.
So, your post has two common links: 1)the man you list as William Morgan Sneed and the Georgia connection.
My g-grandfather's father was listed as W.M.Sneed from GA. and he was a dentist who moved to TN (listed on their census records as 30 yrs. old in 1870-which would put his birth in/around 1840.)
I want to find W.M.Sneed's father...but you do not list him in your post as a child of William Morgan Sneed. The initals are so close to his name plus the GA. connection it is hard to overlook.
Could you email me any info. that you have on William Morgan Sneed and the GA. story.
