To all whom this may comcern;
Know ye that Zachary Snead a Private of Captain W.T. Ogles Company (26) 8th Regiment of Iowa Cavalry Volunteers who was enrolled on the seventhteenth day of August one thousand eight hundred and sixty three to serve three years or during the war is hereby discharged from the service of the United States this sixteenth day of June 1865 at Louisville Kentucky by reason of Gen. Orger No. 27 Dept AGO 1865. No objections to his being re-enlisted is known to exist. Said Zachary Snead was born in Richmond in the state of Virginia, is eighteen years of age, five feet three fourths inches high, auburn hair, fair comlexion. And by occupation when enrolled a farmer.
Given at Louisville Ky this sixteenth day of June 1865

This was found with land deeds requested for another person. I am not researching this sur-name.
