Brenda, Hopefully we can help each other out. I have a little information that goes along with you post here. I have Sneed's in my family that come from the Jackson Co. area. As fas as I can go back I show a gg-grandfather named John L. Sneed ( not sure about the "L" initial and we can't confirma birth or death date yet).
I did find in the Jackson CO. 1850 census a William Sneed that looks to be marriedto a Isabel. He states his age as 35 yrs old and hers as 34 yrs old so I believe these are the same Sneeds you're talking about. They list 5 children, one which is a John Sneed (which MIGHT be the John Sneed I'm related to). He is listed at 6 yrs old so that could make his birth year 1844. The other children listed are Margaret (12), Nancy (10), Henry (8), and Mary I. (2).
I found another piece of information that listed a William Sneed that was married to a Isabella Witcher, but they did not list any children.

Any of this sound familiar? If you have other info on the Sneeds I'd love to share with you. You can email me at
