Hi Barbara,
Sarah Snead, who married David Little was a sister to "my" Elizabeth SNEAD, who married Nathaniel CUNNINGHAM. I know some folks are claiming that Macajah and Sarah are said to be the parents of these girls, yet NO ONE has given me any proof, unless you can. I have done extensive research on this line, and I believe (but can not offer any absolute proof, either,) that their father was Benjamin SNEAD. Elizabeth and Sarah also had a brother Benjamin, who married Felicia OLIVER, in Halifax Co., VA. Elizabeth and Sarah were married in Caswell County, NC. Nathaniel and Elizabeth (aka Betsy) CUNNINGHAM, named their lst son Alexander, no doubt after Nathaniel's father. Their 3rd son was named Benjamin SNEAD CUNNINGHAM. I believe he was named for Betsy's father., Alexander CUNNINGHAM who married Easter Mary MICHAUX, daughter of the Huguenot Abraham MICHAUX. Nathaniel and Betsy named one of their daughters, Sarah MICHAUX CUNNINGHAM. Again, keeping family names in the family. This Sarah (Sally) married Daniel BULLA, and they are my g-g grandparents. I have their family Bible, and also pictures of them both. Sally was a very pretty woman.
Do you have a source for Sarah, Betsy and Benjamin's parents being Macajah? If you look in Halifax Co., VA. records, you can "find" Macajah. I have purchased 21 books, covering Halifax Co., VA, deeds, tax records, wills.and probate and court records, and have not been able to link Macajah to "our" Sarah and Elizabeth. I welcome any reliable source on Macajah. Thanks..
