Thanks for directing me to the Micajah Snead site. Who is the editor? I could not find a name with which to contact the person? I have the book by Jack Hockett, who also says that Micajah was my Elizabeth Snead's father. I believe this to be incorrect, however; I do not have substancial proof. But Jack Hockett could not prove this either. He based his information on the Snead family living in Halifax Co, VA. at this point in time. Elizabeth (Betsy) was married in Caswell Co., NC. in 1790. It was the custom to marry in the county in which the bride lived. Her marriage bond was signed by Benjamin Snead, i assume this was either her brother or her father. She had a brother by this name, and also named a son Benjamin Snead Cunningham. She also named a son after her husband's, father also. Nathaniel's father was Alexander Cunningham. All I want is some proof he was Micajah. Until then, I will question this statement.
Again thanks for contacting me.
I work at our local library as a researcher. I help folks locate their Randolph Co., NC ancestors. This is a job I really enjoy!
