I have an Absolom Snead b. 1765 Anson Co. NC. Maybe there's a connection. He descends from the Sneads of VA, beginning with Israel Snead b. 1700 Hanover, Va. Israel and Johanna Hendley Snead had ten children: Samuel, Keziah, Ann, Henley, Martha (my 4xg-grandmother), William, Frances, Solomon, John and David. Absolom is the son of Henley Snead b. 1736 NC. Hope this helps.
