How did you learn about the brother or half-brother named Aldine? If John Adams Snead had a brother by that name, then I guess we can assume that he named the son by the first marriage for that brother. My family lore (via my grandmother who lived from 1887 to 1981) says that Diana Snead had a total of 19 chilldren by her two Snead husbands, and I have never come up with names for that many children (only about 13) so a brother named Aldine is possible. I'd be very interested to have the source.
