Hi...I am writing to see if we may be able to help each other. I am researching the Snay family as well. I am looking for Harriet Snay who married John B. Levitre and had a son Benjamin in 1837 in Keeseville, NY. From Benj.'s marriage record I have his parents' names and from his children's birth records, his birthplace. Previously I said Harriet was born in NY but this is unclear. In 1880 he does not list his mother's birthplace and in 1910 he lists it as NY. He may have been unsure. In any event, Benjamin marries Julia Liberty who was born in Canada and who's family settled in South Hero, VT before moving onto Massachusetts. I cannot find Benjamin's family on the 1840 or 50 census records and thought they may have relocated out of NY to possibly back to Canada. I think the Snay name, Keeseville, NY and South Hero connections to Harriet Snay are too similar to be coincidence.

Any ideas? Paula
