I have E. Jourdin Smothers, b 1832-1833 TN, with a daughter Florence A. Smothers, b 1871-1872 TN. He seems to be listed as E. J. Smothers in the 1860 census; but perhaps it is P. J.; I would have to go back and take a closer look at the microfilm.
Jourdin Smothers and family, including Florence, left TN after 1870 and are in New Madrid Co., MO, for the 1880 census. I have no further info on Florence....but would like to hear from you if you do.
FYI: This Smothers family is a bit of a mystery. I have not been able to determine who Jourin's parents are. He does NOT seem to be related to the present day Smothers Brothers, whose Smothers ancestors were in North Carolina when Jourdin was alive in TN and MO.....but I cannot rule out a connection back in the very early 1800's or 1700's.
