thanks so much for your reply.
sorry to have mistaken you as also a cooper descendant, but how interesting that this was your micajah smithson, who witnessed this mecklenburg co, va deed re my william harris, sr/ frances good.
sorry to say, i do not know anything about your moses harris in birmingham, al.harris is such a difficult name to trace, etc.
we are participating in the harris dna project and now know that our william harris, sr/ frances goode in lunenburg co, va ca 1750 traces back to our captain thomas harris 1611 of jamestown but i am trying to learn how my william harris, sr/ frances goode does trace back to him??
i figure any of the individuals and families my william harris, sr/ frances goode was involved with there in lunenburg/ mecklenburg co, va, like your micajah smithson may hold clues to this.
in general our harris family moved from henrico co, va to new kent/ hanover cos, va and were in louisa co, va; prince edward co, va; orange co, va; amelia co, va; and lunenburg/ mecklenburg co, va, etc.
this was my william harris, jr, who died 1799 laurens co, sc and his son, my charles harris died 1865 greene co, arkansas; his son, my archibald harris died 1869 cleburne co, al and his son, my great-great grandfather, james harris died 1872 paulding co, ga.
again, if you have info that might help me, i would appreciate hearing from you.
