Smithers from Canada migrated to Michigan

Do any of you Smithers out there know anything about a Smithers family who migrated to Michigan, Lapeer County? They appear to have come to Michigan about the late 1850'w to early 1860's. Some of the names were John Henry married to Mary Ann Delby, George, Norma, Joseph,(Elizabeth who married Asher Fox) Azubia a.k.a. Zubie, William Chester. I know quite a bit about the family after they came to Michigan, but I don'thave a clue where to look for them in Canada. Thanks if anyone can help or give me a tip of where to look in that time period.
