Charlie, I am still looking for that Smitherman information for you in all of my data. So far I have had no luck. The Fitts research I must confess I have not touched since my dear cousin Murray Millander passed away but I will go through it and see if there is anything that will help you.

BULLOCK query: That sounds SO familiar to me that I know this has to be it. Look at the 1870 US Baker Co., Al. Census page 171b house no 146, and you will find KEZIAH BULLOCK age 61 Female born Ga. Listed in the household are the following: Nancy 31 F Ga., Caroline 28 F Ga., Ellen 14 F Ga. and Isabella 5 F Ga. If I am not mistaken Keziah and husband RICHARD BULLOCK had a daughter named Martha who married a Langston. Keziah is buried at Mars Hill Church Cem., in present Chilton Co., Al. [formerly Baker Co.]. BTW living next door to Keziah in 1870 was G W Langston 31 M, Martha 38 F, Jane 11 F, Mary 9 F, Minta Ann 6 F, Andrew 5 M, Joseph 3 M, James 2 M, and George Marlar 14 M who worked on the farm. Jean Shelton is one of the ones who has been working on the Bullocks.
