You seem quite knowledgeable about the Smitherman family. Would you know anything about a g-g-grandmother of mine, Faraby Smitherman? She was born on January 21, 1846 in Randolph Co., Alabama, and married Henry Edward Longcrier on February 3, 1867. Her father was John D. Smitherman, who I believe was born about 1820 in North Carolina. Do you know more? I'll be glad to exchange info if I can be of help to you. Thanks, Steve Longcrier

P.S. - I was particularly intrigued by the comment someone else posted about a certain Smitherman being a full-blooded Cherokee Indian. My grandfather Longcrier told me once that he had heard that one of his grandmothers was a Cherokee, but I've never found any evidence of that. Do you by chance know anything of this? Many thanks!!!
