Jason, I don't know if this will help or not, earlier I had tried to email you directly to get a little more info. to help me find the data your looking for. In 1920 US Chilton Co., Al. Census Pct. 11 Cane Creek house #91/96 was: Thomas Smitherman age 48, Sarah 34 wife, Claudie 14 son, Elijah 12 son, Perlie 12- twin, Lee 10 son, and Milton age 1 4/12 son. Looking back through my cemetery data I found that Tom Smitherman is buried at Macedonia Ch. Cem.,near the river. His tombstone lists his birth as 15 Sept. 1870 and death as 22 May 1966. His wife was Sarah Cleckler b. 1 March 1881. I believe that she is the daughter of John Cleckler/Cleckley and also had brothers named William and George Cleckler. From what I have been told by several people is that Thomas Smitherman is suppose to be a son of Andrew & Sarah Mims Smitherman. This information is suppose to have came out of an article that was printed in the Chilton Co. paper many many years ago. I have the census information on Andrew beginning in 1850 and coming forward but I do not find a son Thomas or Tom listed. There is a son John that I cannot find. Andrew had a son named John born ca. 1874 and also had a grandson named John born ca. 1878. Now I know that these dates are off from the 1870 dob but if you look at Andrew thoughout the census records he does not age 10 years with each census either. One of those John's married Dovie Dutton in Chilton Co., Al. and I have not figured out which one is which. Andrew also had a son named Millard P b. 1862 [according to the 1870 US Baker] that I cannot locate either. It could possibly be that the census taker wrote down P when it should have been T for Thomas, or that John was actually John Thomas. There is an obit in Chilton Co., Al. for Andy Smitherman that I have not pulled yet, the summary of it lists that he died in the Jumbo Community on or about 28 April 1890 and left many heirs. Perhaps once I pull the actual obit, I might have a complete list of the heirs of Andrew. There is no estate in Chilton Co., Al. for this Andrew Smitherman. There is an estate for an Andrew Smitherman in 1911 in Chilton Co., Al. but that is the Andrew who was born 1800 and was the son of William Smitherman Sr. which is a totally different branch of the same family. Email me direct if you have any questions.
