You are very welcome on the information. Being a Smitherman and having researched my family well over twenty years I know how difficult it can be to untangle this family. There are way too many with the same names and close in age, not to mention the number totally missing from the census records that for someone just beginning it can be extremely challenging. Can't really trust the family tree sites either becase so many have too much incorrect information due to the above reasons. I would love to have a copy of the pictures. My email address is my name all together as one word at

Before I forget, on Nancy Emily Smitherman Roy's sister Allah/Alice Smitherman who married G W Rasberry. I went back through all my records and found more information on her. G W Rasberry apparently died shortly after the marriage and it does not appear that they had any children together. On 15 November 1885 in Chilton County, Mrs. Alla Rasberry married W M Wilson at the residence of her mother Mrs. Betty Smitherman. They were married by J B Nelson and the marriage is recorded in Chilton County Marriage Book 4 on page 117. I also have the census records for her family as well as cemetery information. Allah is listed on her tombstone as ALLIE WILSON born 12 March 1862 died 11 August 1898 buried at Clanton City Cemetery, Chilton County, Alabama. Allie along with her 2nd husband and all her children except one are buried there. She had one child to live and he became a dentist and moved away to Jefferson Co., AL. Oddly enough she gave him the middle name of Smitherman.

If you want any additional information on your family history or need the census & marriage citations or estates just email me directly and I will be glad to send those to you.
