Hi Alex,

I actually have a good bit of information on both Doyle and Inez's family, but more so on Doyle's family.

Doyle's parents were:
FATHER:
William Edward "Ed" Smitherman b. 4 September 1875 d. 8 Nov 1924 who is buried at Shady Grove Church Cem. in Bibb Co., AL. Ed was the son of William M Smitherman and Lavinia Catherine Davis, as well as the grandson of Jesse Smitherman b. 25 Dec. 1807 and Dorothy "Polly" Garner.[I can also give you a list of all their children, along with Jesse's children by his second wife Harriett Amanda Davenport Scott if your interested.] NOTE: Doyle's wife Mary Inez Payne, descends from William M Smitherman's sister Sarah Smitherman who married Nathaniel Payne. So on one part they have the same Smitherman line. Doyle has a second Smitherman line in that Lavinia Catherine Davis was the daughter of Margaret Smitherman Goodwin Davis.

MOTHER:
Susan "Susie" Braswell b.8 September 1882 d. 25 December 1968 buried at Mars Hill Church Cemetery, Chilton Co., AL. She was the daughter of William M Braswell and Hulda "Chic" Pate. I have a lot of information on Susan's family as well. Just don't have much information on her father.

Sincerely,
Margie Smitehrman
