Ron, I have information in my files on all three. They all lived in the Maplesville and were related, but they were not brothers although close in ages. From what I have THOMAS J SMITHERMAN was the uncle of both Newton and Charles. Is the Newton you are referring to the same one who moved to Texas? If so, then he was the son of DANIEL SMITHERMAN who was one of Thomas J's older brothers. Another of Thomas J's older brothers who lived in Maplesville was GRANDISON and he did have a son named CHARLES born about 1840/41. I do not have any further informtion on Charles. I would presume that Charles did indeed die young or without heirs prior to his father because he was not listed in his fathers estate.

If you need any further information just email me direct and I will try to help.
