James G. Smitherman b. Oct. 1852 b. TN, father born Ala, mother TN. Wife was Mary b. March 1845. She had 2 children but neither lived. He had brother Isaac Newton Smitherman, 2 sisters, Nancy Elizabeth Culberhouse and Julia Holden who was deceased but had son Clarence Holden and 2 daughters :Ruby Holden and Belle Harris. James was living in Esau, Perry County, Arkansas in 1900. He built a hotel in this town and was a Methodist. The towns name was changed to Bigelow in 1911. Mary died before 1910 and in 1913 James married Mrs. Florence Ramsey. He died April 8, 1923. Seeking descendants of either Smitherman or his wife Florence.
