Frederick John Smeeth (Wapping b.1838 Occupation Police Constable, Clerk, Railway Porter, Cheese Factors Warehouseman )m.29 Mar 1859 at Shorditch Church to Jane Milchard (a Servant at the time, this family goes back as you probably know to the Watermen around the Tower via Matthew and to Germany as Melckert or Melkart etc an dthe name of Bond, sometimes used by some of the family goes back to Hannah)
Harry Smeeth (b.15th December 1861 at 48 Church Street,Baptised 19th January 1862 at Holy Trinity,MinoriesOccupation Bus Conductor, Fish Porter) m. 23rd January 1883 at St.Martins in the Field to Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Goode (Daughter of Victorian Naturalist who lived in Leadenhall Market in the City of London)then both lived in Chapman Place, Wapping
James Goode Smeeth (b.28th March 1887 at Settles Cottage, Shadwell - 1945 Occupation included Carman, Royal Welsh Regiment in WW1, Political Agent, Commissions Agent)m.Alice Gorman 'Nanny Bond' (b.19th Oct 1897 d.27 Jun 1968 - the Gormans are another large Hoxton family related to the Sewells).
Joseph Smeeth (b.21st April 1919 at 48 Great Chart Street, Hoxton - 27 May 1988 occupations included commercial driver, Green Jacket in WW2, then Corporation of City of London. If you ever see the famous photo of one of the first female WPc's - Annie Matthews- in London chasing some naked small boys next to the Serpentine, the last one was my grandad, Joe)m.Marie Louise Morris (b 21 Sep 1921 d.14 Mar 1959 - this side of the family is related to Bethnal Green familes including Hudsons etc)
Marie Louise Smeeth (b.15 Jul 1942 when mother evacuated to Northampton in WW2 rather than at Holywell Row where the rest of her 6 brothers and sisters were born)m. Thomas James McCourt (b.14 Jun 1936 in Monaghan, Ireland - 1994
Thomas Joseph McCourt (b.January 1961 Barts Hospital job Assistant Director Planning and Transportation London Bortough of Hackney) m. Lesley Anne McCarty (b.July 1962 in Canning Town job London Manager NHS Direct)Lived in Shoreditch/Hoxton from 1961 to 1987 at Agatha Square, Victoria Chambers,Pitfield Street and then 19 Holywell Row as the last of the family to live there.
Two children Callum Joseph McCourt (13) and Alexandra Mary McCourt (16)
Not mentioned the large number of cousins, aunts and uncles all over Shoreditch, Hoxton, Wapping and Bermondsey and some on the bottom of the Isle of Dogs....a lot have moved out over the past 10 years or so, but quite a number still live there.
